Emergency services were called to the scene after reports of a tree falling on a vehicle in Gellibrand on August 28.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. as the vehicle was traveling along Main Road near Berrys Road. The fallen tree trapped both occupants inside the car.

Tragically, the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female passenger was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital.

Authorities are still working to formally identify the individuals involved, and the exact circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
